i have been wanting to get brewer skinny jeans FOREVER, but all the ones for boys were always expensive and hard to find. it finally dawned on me to get a girl's pair. all my guy friend's wear girl's pants....found some right away @ oldnavy for $10

when i put them on him i squeeled so loud he got embarrassed and wouldn't stand up to show me for 10 minutes...

we also found a GREAT hoodie for him, but that will be from my grandmom so he will have to wait for christmas. its black and gray striped with a skull. now all i need to do is dye his hair black, part it to the side and tell him to pout constantly.

i know nobody likes a "woe is me" person, but for the 1 or 2 people who read my journal, please be honest with me and tell me why my sense of decoration is so off. here is my submission to the ohdeedoh contest that didn't even get accepted:

i get that the walls arent bright pink or tourquoise and that its not covered in ikea curtains, but i honestly thought that it was a little better than these entries...

lee and i are leaving thursday for virginia. we are going to hang out with the guys in his band and see daughtry in concert. saturday we are going to get tattoos. i changed my mind on what i really wanted because i cant express what i want exactly and the artist, although good, doesn't have much of an imagination. i'm not 100% happy with what he did last time because i wanted him to change the picture i gave him up a bit and he really didnt...so i'm going with my original plan and adding mountains to my hell scene. its kinda like i'm covering my back from heaven to hell if that makes sense. here is a collage of my general idea...

1 is what i want in the sense that it climbs up. 2 is NEAT and i would love to have the very obvious watercolor style, but it would have to be less extreme to match my "hell" scene i already have. 3 has more of the darkness rough style i want to match what i have...the rest is just more of the same....picking designs is STRESSFUL!

Brewer has been awake since 3am. His schedule has been all kinds of
fucked up because of our A shenanigans! Ugh! I had a 9:00
dental appointment that I called and cancelled already cause I knew we
would both be grumpy!

Yesterday was a "neat" day starting from dinner on...we have hawks
again this year and they have been VERY active the past few days. I
wanna say there are 4 and 2 of them are babies. Its almost as if they
are being taught to fly or maybe hunt? Yesterday as Lee was grilling
burgers we could hear them squawking like mad and flying from tree to
tree!
After dinner we took brewer to riverfront park in our 'hood. Its where
"army wives" is filmed and today they were filming a scene. On our way
out we noticed Catherine Bell walking away from set. I'm not typically
star struck, but I must say, she is gorgeous. Much more so in person
if that's possible.
Then when we got home one of the hawks was just sitting in the grass
in front of our window. It was cool to stare at him so close. He flew
off with something in his claws. Looked like dirt, I'm guessing it was
a mouse or mole.
Theeen we noticed a possum outside! So, we watched him run around and
try to climb on a chair. He kept falling and was the cutest thing! He
was my favorite creature of the day. Sorry, Catherine!

i hate my bedroom. i can't find curtains i like to save my life. today i stole an old twin sheet from my mom and made one. even though its cheesy and frilly i don't care.

i also took a headboard of mine that is a size too small for my mattress and shoved it behind the bed. i am terrible at situating pillows and such for my bed. i've never liked my room. UGH!

Everytime i tell myself to make a list of Brewer-ism's, i forget them all. it's so annoying! BUT last night i was reading him his books in bed and OF COURSE he interupted me on every page....finally he was starting "well, why.....why do i say why all the time?" bahahahaha!

also before bedtime and all the books are read he has been giving me topics for a story. so, i will use the topic and tell him a quick, silly made-up story and tonight it was "a boy who sleeps". so i said, "there was a boy who went to sleep. the end". he apparently thought that was hilarious because he started cracking up!

and damnit, i know there were a few more, but i swear i can't remember!

he says things like "that noise is making me frustrated" or "am i driving you nuts?"

dangit...ok, i'm gonna start writing them down right away....

walmart has this shower curtain that always catches my attention, but i always put it back because it wouldn't match my bathroom....but it will match the new one we fix up in our other house!!

it looks much nicer and delicate than in these pictures. think linen/nautical

and then something along these lines...(i keep thinking of anal beads when i see these. maybe i will find something else)

Brewer and i have discovered ETV which i think is a local channel with kids shows and such....(i think they air the antique roadshow). there is a show called Arthur, which i've heard of before. anyways...we were watching today and there was an episode about bed wetting and it was so freakin' funny i was trying to find a clip, but found this one instead!

ok, i'm a filthy liar. i said i was probably done with inspiration post for our house staging, but whatev!

this one i need help on....what do you think of the way the fence starts at the front steps and goes in front of the house? i was kinda happy to find this picture because i thought about moving the fence up on that side of our house to be even with the side of the house. the fence is shot and i thought that would make it look better. this inspiration picture looks like it would solve my issue of not knowing what to do with the ground under the window boxes i have planned...

the bottom inspiration shot is pretty much how i invisioned the left side of my house...but obviously i dont have as much room.

Hmmmm....now that i'm staring at my sad house, i think i might use the bottom idea for the right side cause it's sloped and then do window boxes on the left side. nix the fence idea...atleast in that way.

this will probably be my last "plan" post until we actually start working. i had pretty much made my mind up that i would purchase simple, cheap laminate countertops, from lowes, in white. i knew it would look decent and not cost a fortune. i am painting all cabinets white and thought a white on white kitchen would be clean and crisp!

THEN i said  "um,candice, ikea, hello!"

the top left choice is a little pricier and more modern, but still affordable. i still think an all white kitchen would look nice, but nothing is more classic than white and black....and then you have the butcherblock look. it's always been a dream of mine.

i think a trip to IKEA is quite necessary. maybe Monday!

this is the outside of our house. it's always needed painting, but it has really gone downhill the past year. i painted the shutters black, but nothing else has been done. we are going to repair a few window seals, and panels(masonite-i'm scared) and paint. i dont want to hire someone because i'm not willing to pay $1000+
i'm not looking foward to it at all because we are lazy and i'm worried noone will be up for it. we're gonna have to get a LARGE ladder or worse.
i'm going to plant some sort of tree in front of the left window(your left). a crape myrtle or palm or something....
the two right windows will get flower boxes. as far as underneath i'm at a loss....

here are some inspiration pictures i found to give an idea of the look i'm going for:

should i look into an overhang for the door?

We are gonna try our best to sell our house and avoid having more tenants. we have LOT'S of work to do and i'm hoping we can keep cost down since we will already be losing money on it!

The main bathroom is filthy disgusting. we are going to gut the vanity and linoleum and replace it with this:

this vanity WITH sink top is only $148. i was shocked! we already have a nice faucet for it. the tile is ceramic and we will only need about a box and a half which will be $50-60 plus grout and stuff(i know that stuff can get ya!) my parents have done their own flooring so labor will be free!

we are gonna clean up the tub/shower and add a curved rod for more character. i have a rain shower head already that will be installed:

the walls are baby blue...bad choice. i'm going to paint it white, i think.

the master has a half bath. we are going to rip the vanity out and replace it with a pedestal sink that is only $44 and we already have a faucet. we will have to add some more bamboo flooring, but we have extra. a lot of it got ruined in rain, but i'm hoping we can spare a few boards to finish!

since i've been in such a funk lately, i'm just gonna make random picture post for awhile and then maybe one day i will let it all out.

lee allowed me a free day yesterday and i decided to do some shopping. mostly just looking around, but i did pick up some cheap things here and there....

FINALLY saw two Orla Kiely coffee cups for sale so i bought the only 2 left(might search the other targets for more)

then i got another one of these for sugar to accompany flour

THEN i found these GREAT hoodie pullovers for Brewer this winter. i am now able to shop in the boys department for him as well. they were each $3.74 at Target(they are on sale for much more on the website. wonder why?)

they dont look like anything special, but they are so soft and "worn" looking. makes me wanna cuddle him already!

i also found him a size 5 boy(geez!) pair of duck head shorts at Marshall's for $5.99

remember duck heads, anyone? his little friends came over just now so he wouldn't let me get a decent shot and his face looked drugged.

the asian shoes i bought him the other day were in fact the WRONG size so i bought him some kung fu shoes off ebay. lee has a pair too for drumming. i kinda wanna embelish them somehow, what do you think?

and lastly, i found this adorable 70's owl trivet for a dollar at the thrift store: (i have a couple of ideas for it)
and my camera is being a piece of shit and wont let me upload it...another day, perhaps...
